Dr. Nichols was born and raised in Atlanta. He graduated from UGA with a BS in Biology and a MS in Microbiology. He earned his M.D. degree from the Medical College of Georgia in 1986. He completed his general surgery residency and colorectal fellowship training at the Ochsner Foundation in New Orleans. He returned to Atlanta and practiced a broad range of colorectal surgery with his father for six years and in solo practice after his father’s retirement until he joined the Piedmont Colorectal Associates in 2008. He is a Fellow of the American College of Colon and Rectal Surgeons. Dr. Nichols other interests including model railroading, computers, and general repair. He lives in Atlanta with his wife Lynn, and their two daughters.
